Motorists in Nairobi will have to pay more in parking fees as major operators of private parking lots in Nairobi raise the daily parking fee by 25%.
A spot check by Business Daily revealed that a parking ticket cost KES 250, up from the average KES 200 a day in most privately run parking lots.
Private parking lots that have revised their rates include:
- Loita Street Car Park located opposite Kipande House and bordering Uhuru Highway
- Lexus Car park is expected to implement the new rates in two weeks time
Some private parking lots such, as Metro Parking have maintained the old parking fees of KES 200.
Parking lots run by Kaps Limited have also not revised their rates, charging an entry fee of KES 50 and an extra KES 30 per hour.
