Riara and Pioneer Universities;New Kids in the Block

The Commission for Higher Education (CHE) on Friday 7th September 2012 issued letters of interim authority to Riara University and Pioneer International University. This will allow the two new private universities to offer degree programs in Kenya. The letters of interim authority will allow the two institutions to set up governing bodies for the institutions, development of physical facilities, acquisition of academic resources, advertisement of programs on offer and admission of students.

Riara University on its part has a School of Education, School of Law, School of Business and a school of foundation studies.  Pioneer International College bears an ICT Centre, School of ICT & Engineering, School of Media Arts & Design, School of Community Development, School of Business and a School of Law.

Tuition Fees

If you are a prospective student of Riara Univerity, here is what the fees look like.

For the 2012/2013 academic year, the tuition fees are as follows

Admission to Riara University is open for all applicants, for low- and middle-income students. Student grants and work-study programmes—not student loans—may be provided to successful applicants. However, as a licensed and accredited private university now, students admitted to Riara University may be eligible to apply for state loans such as under the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), as well as from commercial banks, employers and other funding agencies.

Pioneer International University have not published their fees structure online but individuals can have them on inquiry.
