Safaricom Limited has today unveiled a promotion that lowers its cross network calling rates from KES 5 per minute to KES 4 per minute. The new rates take effect from 6th June 2012 to 5th July 2012, after which normal cross network calling rates will be reintroduced. This offer is only open to PrePay subscribers and is subject to per second billing. All other rates remain the same.
This reduction in Safaricom’s cross network calling rates come after Communications Commission of Kenya (CCK) lowered mobile termination rates from KES 2.21 per minute to KES 1.44 per minute
A mobile termination rate is the amount of money an operator pays other operators when its subscribers call other network.
