As at 11.20 am Centum is the biggest gainer at the NSE. It has hit a high of KES 77.50 a 9.95% gain. CIC insurance, which this August completed its bonus issue of shares has hit a high of KES 11.30, a 9.71% gain. The insurance sector dominates the top four gainers with Britam currently trading at KES 37.00 a gain of 8.82%, Liberty Kenya holdings, previously known as CFC Life is up 9.95% at KES 21.00
Express Kenya is the biggest loser at 5.67%. External auditors have recently raised a red flag over the company’s debt levels. Bamburi Cement limited is currently trading at KES 152, a loss of 4.58% from Friday’s close. East African Breweries is down 2.21% having ranged between KES 271 and 265 today.
Liberty Kenya and CIC Insurance have the most pending bids. (Bids are prices quoted by prospective sellers). Liberty Kenya has bids totalling over 81,000 shares at between KES 19.20 and 21.00. CIC Insurance has over 771,000 shares being bid for at between KES 10.60 and 11.30.
