StarTimes Expands Its Network Coverage

With less than a year since its official launch, StarTimes digital television services are available in up to 15 towns across the country. The company on Monday, January 28, 2013 confirmed that its services are up and running in Meru, Embu, Karatina, Nanyuki, Malindi, Kakamega, Webuye, Kitale, Bungoma, Eldoret, Nyeri, Nakuru. This is in addition to the coutry’s major towns: Nairobi, Mombasa and Kisumu.

Acknowledging this development, StarTimes Media Kenya Chief Executive Officer Mr. Leo Lee said the company is glad to have covered so much ground less than a year since it officially launched in the country and in process brining premium television experience to Kenyans with over 70 channels now available on StarTimes.

“We are very impressed with the progress we have made so far and we thank the Kenyan people for supporting us overwhelmingly thereby making this rate of service expansion possible. Our goal is to ensure the majority if not all households in the country have access to our world class digital television content at very affordable subscription charges,” said Mr. Leo Lee.

StarTimes also announced the addition of two channels to its existing channels options. Views can now watch TLC, a lifestyle channel, and Discovery Science, a documentary channel, at no extra cost.

Mr. Leo Lee noted the company’s quest to revolutionize subscriber’s television viewing experience through the provision of content that is sure to meet the diverse viewing tastes.

“With over 70 channel options now available on StarTimes, we will keep making it even better not only through competitive pricing but also spicing up our content in an effort to give value for money while keeping our subscribers informed and entertained,” said Mr. Leo Lee.  

With the service now available across the 15 towns, the company is aiming to not only make the digital television service accessible but also provide unrivaled customer service experience. The company has established a 24 hour call centre that will be at hand to assist subscribers whenever they have any enquiries on the service.
