At today’s NSE trading, we will be closely observing the following share counters:
- Jubilee Insurance Holdings – One day after East Africa’s largest insurance group had its biggest one day drop, the Jubilee share was yesterday a top gainer, rising 2.41 percent to Ksh 170 from Ksh 166 last week. The share has shown a steady improvement this year, beginning the year at Ksh 137.65 and reaching high of Ksh 178 in May (Bloomberg). Jubilee recommended a 110 percent dividend of Ksh 5.50 per share in March after the insurer’s 2011 pre-tax profit grew 4.4 percent to Ksh 2.14 billion according to the company’s website.
- Williamson Tea – After gaining steadily in May and June reaching a high of Ksh 290 in the period, the tea grower is now showing declined performance this month trading at a range below Ksh 270. The counter has lost for the past two consecutive days closing down 1.52 percent yesterday at Ksh 260 down from Ksh 264 at the close of trading last week (Bloomberg).
- B.O.C Kenya Ltd – The gases supplier hit a one year high last week and thereafter dropped for the rest of the week but is now on the up-turn becoming yesterday’s top gainer adding 8.70 percent to close at Ksh 125 up from Ksh 115 last week. We will watch the counter to see whether it continues to gain beyond last week’s record high.
