Here are the shares we will be closely watching in today’s trading at the Nairobi Securities Exchange:

• British American Tobacco – The cigarette maker yesterday climbed to an all time high of KES 400 per share. BAT shares have been one of the best performing this year, rallying 77 percent from January to date. We will watch the shares today to see if they top yesterday’s high.

• KCB – The share topped Wednesday’s high reaching KES 25.25 which was its highest since 2008. We will watch if the share tops this current high.

• CFC Stanbic Holdings – The share was the third biggest gainer climbing 5.26 percent to KES 45 per share. The share had dropped on Wednesday but now appears to be climbing after it announced a 36 percent earnings growth to 1.78 billion shilling for the six months to June this year. We will watch if the share rises further today.
