Here are the shares we will be closely watching in today’s trading at the Nairobi Securities Exchange:
- British American Tobacco – The share dropped from its year long rally late last week to go as low as KES 361 but yesterday rose back closer to the 400 shilling range closing at KES 399 per share. We will watch the share in today’s trading to see if it resumes climbing to new highs.
- Limuru Tea Company – Yesterday the tea grower posted a 93 percent drop in half-year profit to 678,000 shillings from 9.3 million in the same period last year. Read more on this here. The share has been stable at KES 450 since mid-June this year. We will watch the counter today in light of yesterday’s earnings announcement.
- Nation Media Group – We will maintain watch on Nation Media shares which topped last week’s high of KES 188 to close at a new 3-year high of KES 193. The shares have been rallying since Nation Media posted financial growth in its main business segments for the six months to June. Read more here. A good financial outlook from the recent launch of NationHela, an international money transfer service could also be propping up the share.
