Here are the shares we will be closely watching in today’s trading at the Nairobi Securities Exchange:
Nation Media Group – Yesterday the media group's share price gained one shilling to close at their new 3 year high of KES 206; topping Friday’s closing high of KES 205. They have gained since mid-August from a range below 175 shilling per share to prevail at the 200 shilling range since late last month on the back of a growth in half year earnings. We will be watching to see if they top their price today.
Kenol Kobil - Following their report of a KES 3.8 Billion loss the share lost on the market yesterday closing at KES 13.70 from KES 15.10 on Friday. The share was also the second most traded yesterday with 3.12 million shares which most likely indicates high selling activity. We will watch to see if the share stabilises or drops some more.
British American Investments - Date from the NSE shows that the company closed yesterday at KES 6. They are currently undergoing a rebrand changeing their name to Britam. We will be watching to see if the rebrand has any effect on their share price.
