Here are the shares we will be closely watching in today’s trading at the Nairobi Securities Exchange:
- Safaricom – The share yesterday gained 5 cents to close at the year’s highest closing price of KES 3.95 also reached just over one week ago. Since July the share has rallied to trade above the 3.5 shillings mark from just below this for the better part of the year. Yesterday Safaricom contributed the most to overall trading volumes with 32.4 percent of total turnover. We will watch the share today to see if it beats yesterday’s high.
- Equity Bank – The share closed at a 13-month high of KES 23.50 yesterday after gaining 3.3 percent. High foreign investor demand drove the share’s surge according to a research note by Standard Investment Bank. We will observe if the share rallies further today.
- KCB – The share closed yesterday at its highest of KES 26 within the share’s 5 year trading history. We will watch to see if it tops yesterday’s high today.
