is often referred to as the manor and once belonged to famous TV producer, Aaron Spelling. Now commonly known as “The Manor”, this prime piece of real estate belongs to British billionaire and Formula One Chief Bernie Ecclestone’s daughter, Petra.

It is, in fact, a Chateau of French design and is located on 4.6 hectares of land.  It has 123 bedrooms, a cinema, a bowling alley, several tennis courts, swimming pools, a beauty salon and a spa.

7.  The Pinnacle, Montana

Lucky number seven belongs to the USD 155 million (KES 13.3 billion) Pinnacle in Montana. According to a living large lifestyle resource platform known as The Richest People, it is the biggest house in an exclusive ski and golf resort known as the Yellowstone Club. It is owned by real estate developer, Tim Blixseth and his wife Edra. The house has a heated flooring system that covers the entire indoor area. It boasts a fireplace in every bathroom. The house also contains a wine cellar, a gym, a massage room and indoor and outdoor swimming pools.

6. Franchuk Villa, England

Coming in at number six is the USD 161 million (KES 13.9 billion) Franchuk Villa in Kensington, England. This Victorian mansion has 6 floors each with 20 foot ceilings. It has several private cinemas, a gym and a basement swimming pool. Located in central London, this building covers 21,000 square feet of space.

Located in Area Code 90210, Beverly Hills, California, Hearst Castle (sometimes known as Hearst Mansion) costs USD 165 million (KES 14.2 billion). It was built by American publisher, William Hearst but is currently owned by a lawyer named Leonard Ross. It has 29 bedrooms, 8 fireplaces, 3 swimming pools, a bunch of tennis courts and even a nightclub. All these features are spread out over 6 separated residences on the same piece of land. This is not only the richest house in Beverly Hills, but also the 5th most expensive house in the entire world.

4. Fairfield Pond, New York

Fairfield Pond is the largest residential compound in the entire United Statesand costs USD 170 million (KES 14.6 billion).

The house is located on 63 acres of land in The Hamptons and is owned by businessman, Ira Rennert. It has 29 bedrooms, 39 bathrooms, a bowling inn and five tennis courts.

Located in Hyde Park this USD 200 million (KES 17.2 billion) flat has its own car park, a skyline view of Central London, a panic room,

and bullet-proof windows. The place also comes with 24-hour butler and chambermaid services. According to The Rich People, its view is breathtaking and the service perks are worth every penny.

Villa Leopolda is located in the Cote d’Azur area of France and sits on 20 acres of land in the French Riviera. It was originally built by Belgian King, Leopold the Second in 1902. Few people actually know who actually owns this USD 506 million (KES 43.6 billion) mansion but according to The Rich People the house could belong to Microsoft founder, Bill Gates or some obscure Russian tycoon.

It has 11 bedrooms and 14 bathrooms as well as a garden of cypress, lemon and olive trees. It also has a private beach front which is rumoured to be the most beautiful beach in Southern France.

And for the crème de la résistance, the house even has an entire temple dedicated to the Hindu deity, Krishna. According to BornRich and BBC, this is the most expensive house in the entire world.

So how much is a billion dollar house actually worth? According to A World of Progress, one Gulf Stream G550 Private Jet costs 40 to 60 million US dollars. With a billion US dollars (KES 86.1 billion), you could buy 25 Private Jets. Dark Island, a private piece of real estate on the St Lawrence Seaway, costs USD 24.5 million (KES 2.1 billion). If you had a billion dollars, you could buy 40 private islands just like this one. Some Yatchs have been known to cost about USD 100 million (KES 8.6 billion). If you had the stipulated amount, you could buy 10 of these.
