The Small-holder Irrigation Schemes Organisation (SISDO) has launched one of the country’s most affordable medical insurance policies. Kenyans can now pay a daily premium of KES 34 for health insurance which covers both outpatient and inpatient care.

However, SISDO, is not the first low-cost health insurer in the market. CIC offers a similar service for KES 10 a day while UAP boasts of Salama Sure, a policy that can cost as little as KES 7 a day for medical insurance.
