The Scam: Real People, Real Stories

Unfortunately, many unsuspecting people are scammed everyday in Kenya. Scams target people of all backgrounds, ages and income levels across the country and there is no one group of people who are more likely to fall victims than the other.

Many have lost their life savings or assets through:

Just to mention but a few.

Starting this Monday, and subsequent Mondays for the next couple of weeks, we will bring you our weekly feature, The Scam where we will feature real stories of people who have been victims of scam schemes across the country.

Most of these will be stories from friends and readers of Pesatalk. So have you been a victim of a scam or know of anyone who has been? Did you respond to those familiar e-mail’s from Nigeria or those about a long-lost relative or desperate government official in a war-torn country in need of shuffling some funds around, say US $10 million or US $20 million, and if you could just help them out for a bit, you get to keep 10, 20 or even 30 percent for your trouble. Spare a few of your precious time to send us an e-mail through ‘Email the Author’ tab at the bottom of this article to share your experience. We would love to hear about it and share it with others. We believe that by posting these stories we get the word out and raise awareness to others.

Do not miss out the first feature on The Scam this coming Monday
