The NSE 20 Share Index today gained 8.56 points to 3,950.97 points from yesterday’s 3,942.41 points while the All Share Index gained 0.14 points to 86.43 points from 86.29 points previously.

HIGHEST VOLUMES

Safaricom shares were today the most traded with 11.89 million shares while East African Breweries was second with 2.94 million shares. Uchumi was third most traded with 949,300 shares while KCB was the fourth most traded share with 861,100 shares across the counter.

COUNTER WATCH

Unga Group - The shares closed at maintained at KES 15.10 at the end of trading today. The company is yet to make an announcement regarding dividend payout and there’s lots of speculation on it being higher.

City Trust – The shares closed at KES 345.00 (cum dividend). City Trust announced an Interim dividend of shs.6.00 on earlier on this month and that is payable at the end of October-2012.
