The NSE 20 Share Index today rose from yesterday’s 3,953.53 points to 3,956.54 points while the All Share Index rose to 87.04 points from 86.84 points yesterday.
HIGHEST VOLUMES
The highest volumes traded today were Safaricom, HFCK and Mumias Sugar company. Safaricom traded the highest with 10.47 million making their market capitalization KES 160 billion. 2.01 million shares changed hands for HFCK making its market capitalization KES 3.06 billion while the 1.81 million Mumias Sugar Company shares gave them a KES 9.33 capitalization.
COUNTER WATCH
- CFC Stanbic Rights – The rights were the top losers at the stock market today, losing 17.36% to close at KES 5.00 per right from KES 6.00 previously. The rights have been trading since last Wednesday and are set to trade until the 8th of October. CFC Stanbic Holdings is carrying out the rights issue to raise 4 billion shillings to expand their subsidiary.
- Williamson Tea Kenya – The shares maintained a share price of KES 204 to the share, the same as yesterday’s close.
- British American Investments – The shares edged upwards by 10 cents, an increase of 1.64% with the spread ranging from KES 5.90 to KES 6.70.
