COUNTER WATCH
- Kengen – The share gained 0.6 percent to close the day at KES 8.40 which is its highest closing price in one month. Today’s close brings the share to a 2.4 percent gain this week and could point to further rallying to come away from the year’s low of KES 8.20 where the share closed for the better part of last week. News reports today revealed that the electricity producer is looking for a financial adviser to help it secure 420 billion shillings to increase electricity generation capacity to 3,000 megawatts from the current 1,183 megawatts.
- KCB – The share closed at yesterday’s price of KES 27.50 today. This month the share has rallied likely on foreign investor demand to a more than 5 year high of KES 28.00 reached on Thursday last week. The blue chip KCB counter has also helped push up the NSE 20 Share Index to its recent highs.
