The NSE 20 Share Index today edged up 1.12 percent to 3,903.72 points from 3,860.41 points yesterday while the All Share Index climbed 1.7 percent to 86.59 points from 85.16 points yesterday.
HIGHEST VOLUMES
Safaricom were the most traded shares with 13.95 million shares up from 2.05 million yesterday while KenolKobil were again second with 3.37 million shares up from yesterday’s 3.12 million shares. KCB were third most traded with 2.36 million shares up from 1.11 million yesterday while fourth were Equity Bank with 1.51 million shares. CIC Insurance was the fifth most traded share with 1.40 million across the counter.
COUNTER WATCH
Nation Media Group – The shares closed at their high of KES 205 similar to yesterday. This is their highest closing price in 3 years on the back of a share rally since the media company posted half year financial growth early last month.
KenolKobil – The shares tumbles another 2.9 percent today to close 5 cents lower than yesterday’s closing price at KES 13.10. They have been on the downward this week after KenolKobil posted a 3.8 billion shilling loss for the six months to June on Friday.
British American Investments – The financial services group today switched to the Britam brand for all its subsidiaries. The share closed at its highest price of this year at KES 6 where it has closed since Friday last week.
