Safaricom was the highest traded counter today (again this week) with 7.62 million shares traded while second was Equity Bank with 3.08 million shares. Kenya Airways was third with 2.31 Million shares changing hands and KPLC was fourth with 1.47 million shares traded.
COUNTER WATCH
- Sasini Group – 2,200 shares were traded today with an overall decrease of KES 0.20 to close at KES 11.30. News on the increased coffee price by KES 880 per bag seems to have had no immediate positive effect on the share’s price. There was a small bid-ask spread from which the investors could make money today from this counter with highs of KES 11.50 and lows of KES 11.30.
- Standard Chartered Bank – The counter saw 6,600 shares traded today with the average price of KES 212.00, an increase of KES 3.00 from yesterday’s price. The share increase might be a sign of positivity amongst investors who will be able to partake in the 2nd rights issue that is to commence on 9th October. The share hit a high of KES 215.00 and a low of KES 212.00 allowing for a KES 3 margin to make a profit from share sale.
