Now that Airtel joins Safaricom and Orange in the 3G network we are spoilt for choice when it comes to fast internet connectivity. Which among the three has the most affordable rates?
Unlimited Internet Bundle for 1 day
Airtel and Safaricom are the only 3G providers that offer you the unlimited 1 day bundle; a product ideal for those who need unlimited internet connectivity for a limited duration of time, of not more than one day.
Of the two, Airtel is the cheapest with a rate of KSh 150 while Safaricom’s rate is KSh 200.
Unlimited internet Bundle for 7 days
The three service providers offer you the 1 week unlimited data bundle at various rates. Airtel has the cheapest rate of KSh 750 while Safaricom and Orange have rates of KSh 1000 and KSh 999 respectively.
Unlimited Internet Bundle for 1 Month
When it comes to the unlimited 1 month data bundle Safaricom and Airtel have approximately the same rates of KSh 3,000 and KSh 2,999 though Orange does not have this provision.
From the above data Airtel is the most affordable 3G network to be on though it is important to note that Safaricom’s 3G network has been very consistent and reliable. Airtel has, for the longest time, claimed to have the 3G system but these claims were yet to be proved until their recent launch of the 3G network on 25th February 2012. it is thus too early to vouch for the reliability of Airtel’s 3G network. on the other hand, Orange 3G has at times been a major disappointment with most of their subscribers opting out of the system. For reliability and consistency, I would vouch for Safaricom.
