If you tried making an M-Pesa transaction over the past couples of hours, you probably received this message:
Dear customer, M-PESA is currently undergoing maintenance and is unable to process your request. We apologies for the inconvenience.
Through a message posted on Safaricom’s Facebook page, the outage on M-Pesa services has been caused by a power outage on a Vodafone server in Germany on Sataurday night that damaged server discs.
Safaricom though adviced users that its technical teams both here and in Germany are working to restore normal services as soon as possible.
Safaricom further noted that normal service is expected to resume soon and it regret inconvenience caused.
