Wi-Fi Internet From Posta

The Postal Corporation of Kenya (PCK)  is seeking to implement installation of wireless internet in all the post offices across the country. The service, which will first be launched in Nairobi before spreading out to the other parts of the country will see consumers post-pay or pre-pay between KES150 and KES200 monthly fee.  “We want every post office to have wi-fi services for Kenyans to access Internet services,” acting Postmaster-General Enock Kinara told The Standard.

This will mean that players in the data markets such as telecoms and  internet service providers in the country should brace themselves for competition from PCK. The concept of this project has already been presented to the Ministry of Information and Communications  and is awaiting a cabinet approval after a cabinet paper is done.
