The share price of tea producer Williamson Tea yesterday rose 2.93% as at the close of the Nairobi Securities Exchange.
There were just 900 shares traded in 4 bids in the trading session to push up the share price by KES 8 to close at KES 281 from the previous day’s close of KES 273.
In the last year the share has ranged between KES 179 and KES 315 and the share price has generally risen over the period albeit some spikes in between.
The share has a market capitalization of KES 2.45 billion with about 1,000 small shareholders according to the Business Daily. The company is to give shareholders a special dividend having sold its former headquarters along Ngong Road for an estimated KES 500 million (read that article from the (BD here).
